python-tickertape is a Python module that provides a simple interface for Python programs to use for constructing and manipulating Tickertape Chat messages.

Message class instances can handle all attributes allowed by the Chat protocol specification, including arbitrary MIME attachments. Helper methods allow attachments to be loaded from strings or files, with optional automatic MIME type information. Notifications can be generated for protocol versions 1 and 3.

Security keys can also be attached to messages, with both basic and smart schemes supported.

python-tickertape requires the Mantara Elvin Python SDK and Python version 2.2 or later.
